Saw another wonderful performance tonight, by Cloris Leachman. She opened her show here in Sedona to an over-packed theatre and we lucked out with second row seats. It’s hard to believe that such a warm, talented and gracious lady is actually an 82 year old great-grandmother who can still totter about on 5″ heels. What’s not hard to believe is that she’s won a record-setting eight primetime and one daytime Emmy Awards, along with her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in The Last Picture Show. My favorites included the characters of Phyllis on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Frau Blucher in Frankenstein and she nailed all of them, along with singing and playing the piano. She has two new major movies coming out in 2008.

I hope that when I’m her age, I can do all of that and then go stand in the lobby and hug everyone who wants to hug me.

Thank you, Cloris!
