We decided to do something a little different for our anniversary this year and went on a trail ride out of Cottonwood. The owner of the horses had grown up on this property, now part of Dead Horse State Park, and his grandfather had originally homesteaded the land back in 1910. The wagon, pictured at the top, brought settlers from further south in the 1800’s.

Our guide, above, loves her job in part because she gets to “ride to work” each day. It was a lovely morning for a trail ride along the river and we even saw a great blue heron flying overhead.

Thank you, Tina! Technically it’s not until the 19th but Roy’s brother and sister-in-law will be with us then, so we decided to celebrate early! 😉
