One of my favorite August pleasures is sitting, at dusk, in a rocking chair on the front porch of an old fashioned ice cream shop, watching people eat their ice cream. Everyone has their own personal style of licking a cone (do you ever bite off the bottom?), sucking absentmindedly on a spoon, wiping at the corner of the mouth with a napkin (or just letting ice cream drip, unheeded, off the chin).

Ice cream. Rocking chairs. Sunset. Summer…

Those pictures made me smile immediately. And I love the invitation to consider my idiosyncratic ice cream eating. I’m not a cone fan. I like a little cup and a spoon.

I’ve never been to the kind of ice cream shop you described. I’d love to do that together, Sunny!
