Welcome 2008!

Last night was the First New Year’s Eve party that I ever threw. Actually it was more of a toss than a throw. It began as a casual idea to get together for the holiday with friends John and Karel who mentioned that they’d be coming south from Jersey on the 30th. Then it expanded to include our neighbors Tina, Scott and their little girls. After that, we all started inviting other friends that we thought would enjoy the group.

Voila — a party was born. What made it such fun was that we didn’t really indulge in small talk. We started out by sharing adventures, and ended up sharing intentions for the new year. I didn’t know what mine was going to be until it popped out of my mouth: This year, as Gandhi said, I want to be more of the change I wish to see in the world.

Now that I’ve made this intention known, out loud in front of a group of people, I’m sure that the Universe will provide me with opportunities to do exactly what I said I’d like to do. Remember those old civil defense drills on the radio and TV in the 60’s? “This is a test…”

*Deep breath* OK, I’m ready. Onward and upward!

Thank you, mousewords! And the same to you in your journey. I’m familiar with your good works from reading Liz’s site. 🙂
