Unplugged by Nancy Whitney-Reiter: Book CoverMourning Sickness by Missy Martin: Book Cover

Two friends of mine, Jesse Loren and Nancy Whitney-Reiter, have new books coming out in May 2008.

Nancy’s is about “how to disconnect from the rat race, have an existential crisis, and find meaning and fulfillment. Nancy survived the attacks of 9/11, left her job at a Fortune 500 company, and embarked on a year of international travel and soul searching. By giving herself time and space for self-reflection – unplugging – she was then able to build a new life based on vital interests.”

Jesse has edited a book of stories and poems about miscarriage, stillbirth and infant loss. “In this first-of-its-kind collection, 51 contributors (many of them award-winning writers) share their personal journeys.”

I wrote an endorsement for Mourning Sickness and I highly recommend the book along with Unplugged.
